Oxidising St Thomas

Meet Oxidising St Thomas – the clay that's basically the Swiss Army knife of your studio. Fire it anywhere between 1150-1280°C (Cone 3 to 10) and watch it work its magic. You'll get that gorgeous toasted buff colour at stoneware temps, plus those stunning natural speckles that make every piece look like it was touched by a pottery wizard.

Smooth enough for throwing, forgiving enough for handbuilding, and tough enough to handle whatever wonky shapes you throw at it. It laughs in the face of warping and cracking – seriously, this clay is basically unbreakable. Texture-wise, it sits at a lovely 4-5 (so not too gritty, not too silky).

Expect about 8% shrinkage at 1100°C and 11% at 1200°C. Teachers love it, beginners adore it, pros respect it. A true crowd-pleaser.
